The Facilities Directorate has come together to support one local and one national charity.
Staff across the Facilities Directorate were asked to nominate potential charities and the two with the most votes were Martin House Hospice (local) and Macmillan Cancer Support (national).
Yorkshire Air Ambulance
The YAA is a rapid response air emergency service that serves a population of approximately 5 million people across 4 million acres. The fast medical response that the Air Ambulance service provides is vital to a patient who has received major trauma, especially those with head and spinal injuries, as the Air Ambulance can avoid traffic congestion and uneven road surfaces to get patients to hospital within the “Golden Hour”
Cancer Research UK
Cancer Research UK saves millions of lives by discovering new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. Over the past century, their researchers have made consistent progress in the fight agains t cancer, and survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years.

The Facilities Directorate have been hard at work earning money for charity; Our talented teams of chefs did this years’ total warrior challenge in June and , members of the Sport & Physical Activity team have scaled the Yorkshire 3 peaks in aid of charity.

All year long the Facilities directorate has been working hard raising money for Martin house children’s hospice and MacMillan cancer support. The Facilities Directorate has set a target of raising £15,000
